Thorlin (Our Hero)

 Thorlin the Origin:

I first came up with his name playing another game.  He is a direct descendant of Thorin Oakenshild.  His family greatly respected the sacrifice and raised their son, Thorlin, to be as strong and respectful as Thorin.  I’ve used this name for many of my adventures and I like the name so much I named my dog after him.

In our story Thorlin is a strong and just man, trained in hand-to-hand combat.  He is not one of the wardens, but he is typically used to get the job done right.  He is not a very social man but he believes strongly in his home.  He is a pure Skulde and is proud of his people.  He, and his family believe in maintaing the pure bloodline and will only allow he and his sister to marry another pure blood.  

Thorlin believes there is power in their bloodline and this is why the Skulde were able to push the others off their land and force them to flee to the Ironlands.  He has sworn to his family to gather the power of the Skulde.  What the purpose of this is, but he feels it is important.

Since the raid by the Broken, Thorlin has sworn an Iron Vow to drive the Broken from the lands around their settlements and ensure the safety of their people.

His first mission was to head into the mountains to bring back the few kidnapped people of Stoneford.  On his journey he found a runed archway dug into the hills and did nothing more than make note of it before being attacked by an unusually tall Broken.  

While in the Broken settlement Thorlin found a number of stone slabs with bodies on them which were being used for some sort of ritual.  During a battle he was able to discover the ritual is part of bringing a creature called the Dram Walker back into our world.  Thorlin was able to free his people and brought them back to Stoneford. 

Now the question which needs to be answered is what is going on in the hills where the runed archway stood?
